An artist of instinct and of the moment, it is in her home workshop on the banks of the Loire that Anaïs Frébeau imagines her paintings full of softness and lightness. Drawing inspiration from the urban, cultural and graphic world of the city of Nantes as well as from its rejuvenating forests and hills, it innovates and breaks codes, through its collages, its messages and its brush dictated by the heart, subtlety, balance and nuances.
Seeing, feeling, feeling, transforming, touching colors and palpating light is what has always motivated Anaïs. Passionate about words and greedy of colors, the materials in their diversity (recycled paper, packaging, pieces of antique fabrics, etc.) are treasures and an unlimited source of creation. She glues them on a canvas to see the textures change, play the transparencies, the brilliance of acrylics, the authenticity of the cardboard or the powdery aspect of the pastel, so many riches that make the ideas of a color bounce back to a country, from a pattern to a souvenir or from a journey to an object. A synesthesia that makes it alive and gives all its joy to its creations.
With its series "Forests of paper", Anaïs chooses to restore the tree to its original verticality by integrating strips of recycled paper into his canvases. The life cycle of paper is completed and the tree regains its natural nobility through art in an eternity of beauty.
